A bountiful harvest is predicted for vineyards this year. The early Spring rains followed by the heatwave of Summer has led to the belief that it will be a very abundant grape harvest this year. The weather gave the vineyards early blooms on the vines which has set up the perfect storm for ample clusters of grapes.

The hot summer sun will continue to sweeten the grapes leading to a quality vintage for 2018. Chief executive Frazer Thompson said: “Every single vineyard that could go right has gone right – and often we get the right weather, but not in the right order, but this year we have had the right weather in the right order … ‘14 was the last vintage that was a bit like that and it produced staggering wines.”

You may want to make room in your cellar for some stellar wines that will be produced from this year’s harvest. Cheers!
